    Originally from Sydney/Eora Country, Callum Mackay is an award-winning emerging playwright and actor based in Melbourne/Naarm. Since graduating from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2018 (Bachelor of Fine Arts - Acting), Callum has written four plays: ‘the last train to madeline’ (Fever103 Theatre), ‘Brittany & The Mannequins’ (Fever103 Theatre), ‘The Book of Daniel’ (Sundries Studio), and ’Waterfowl’ which will be performed later next year. ‘Waterfowl’ won the 2023 Queer Play Writing award, was long listed for Red Stitch Actor’s INK Program, a top ten finalist of the Lysicrates Prize and selected to be a part of kxt bAKEHOUSE’s Storytellers 2022 season. Callum was also commissioned by ATYP to write a monologue titled ‘Atlas Shrugged for RoomWorks in 2020 and was a part of ATYP’s 2023 National Studio where he wrote the monologue ‘Pest’ which was selected to be published. As an actor, Callum has performed as Antipholus of Ephesus in ‘The Comedy of Errors’ (Melbourne Shakespeare Company), Berowne in ‘Love’s Labour’s Lost’ (Melbourne Shakespeare Company), Telegin in Uncle Vanya (Anthropocene Play Company) Davo in ‘Blackrock’ (Ebbflow Theatre Co.), Steve in ‘BLITZ’ at Melbourne Fringe, Tommy in ‘Where’s My Money? (7th Floor Theatre), Michal in ‘The Pillowman’ (The Dark Room Theatre Company) and Citizen & Private Carr in Ulysses in Plaguetime (Bloomsday Melbourne). Callum has also acted in the web series ‘The Undergarment Odysseys’ and ‘The Waiting Game’. Callum is also the co-founder of Sundries Studio and founded Fever103’s Play Readings, currently serving as their literary manager. Callum is also proud member of MEAA and Equity.
